Hughes Internet for Rural Areas
Hughesnet provides strong internet across America—including rural communities. Once you’ve selected the right plan for your home, a team member will install a satellite dish to get your internet up and running.
A Hughesnet professional technician will install the Hughesnet Wi-Fi Modem and connect it to two of your devices (e.g. laptop, tablet, desktop computer, or smartphone).
The technician will install a Hughesnet outdoor antenna system on your roof or other raised area with a clear line of sight to the southern sky.
The technician will run an RG-6 cable from the outdoor antenna to the indoor modem by drilling a hole through the wall and then sealing it with a faceplate.
You’ll be provided with a grounding block, and the freshly installed system will be grounded to an NEC-approved bonding point.
The technician will weather-seal outdoor penetrations and water-resistant compression fittings to protect your home and internet from outside interference.

How does Hughesnet satellite internet work?
When you visit a web page on your computer, a request is sent to a satellite thousands of miles out in space. The satellite then reaches out to the Hughes Network Operations Center (NOC), which finds the specific website you requested. Finally, the website sends the information back to the NOC, then to the satellite, and then to your computer through your satellite dish and modem.
Although the information travels a wide distance, the entire process takes a fraction of a second so that you can surf and stream online without lag.
