What to Expect with Professional Installation

Our professional installation process is quick, hassle-free, and provides you with all the necessary equipment to have your internet up and running in no time. 

  1. A Hughesnet technician will first install the Wi-Fi Modem with Wi-Fi 6 technology and connect at least two of your devices (e.g. smartphone, laptop, desktop computer).
  2. The technician will then install an outdoor antenna system on your roof or other raised area with a clear line of sight to the southern sky.
  3. An RG-6 cable will be run from the antenna outside to the modem inside through a drilled hole in the wall.
  4. The technician will provide a grounding block to ground the system to an NEC-approved bonding point.
  5. All outdoor penetrations and other outside equipment are weather-sealed to prevent interference.
  6. Your internet is ready to go!

What's involved with Hughesnet installation?

Your Hughesnet installation technician will connect your devices to your Wi-Fi 6 modem, then set up the satellite dish in an outdoor area (either a roof or raised wall) to face a satellite. They will then run an RG-6 cable from the antenna to your indoor modem through a hole drilled into the wall (which they will seal). Finally, they’ll weatherproof the cable and wall to prevent outside interference.
